Deathstroke vs The Punisher

Biography-

Slade Wilson was sixteen years old when he first enlisted in the United States Army, having lied about his age. After serving a stint in Korea, he was later assigned to Camp Washington where he had been promoted to the rank of Major. In the early 1960s, he met Captain Adeline Kane who was tasked with training young soldiers in new fighting techniques in anticipation of brewing troubles taking place in Vietnam. Kane was amazed at how skilled Slade was and how quickly he adapted to modern conventions of warfare. She immediately fell in love with him, and realized that he was without a doubt the most able-bodied combatant she had ever encountered. She offered to privately train Slade in guerrilla warfare. In less than a year, Slade mastered every fighting form presented to him and was soon promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Six months later, Adeline and he were married and she became pregnant with their first child. During that time, the war in Vietnam began to escalate and Slade was shipped overseas. In the war, his unit massacred a village, an event which sickened him. He was also rescued by SAS member Wintergreen, to whom he would later return the favor. Slade Wilson was later chosen for a secret experiment where the Army imbued him with enhanced physical powers in an attempt to create meta human super soldiers for the U.S. military. Slade became a mercenary soon after the experiment when he defied orders and rescued his friend Wintergreen who was sent on a suicide mission by a commanding officer with a grudge. Slade kept this career secret from his family, even though his wife was an expert military combat instructor. However, a criminal named the Jackal took his younger son Joseph Wilson hostage to force Slade to divulge the name of a client who had hired him as an assassin. Slade refused, claiming it was against his personal honor code. He then attacked and killed the kidnappers at the rendezvous. Unfortunately, Joseph’s throat was slashed by one of the criminals before Slade could prevent it, destroying Joseph’s vocal cords and rendering him mute. After taking Joseph to the hospital, his wife Adeline Wilson was enraged at his endangerment of her son and tried to kill Slade by shooting him, but only managed to destroy his right eye. Afterward, his confidence in his physical abilities was such that he made no secret of his impaired vision, marked by his mask which has a black, featureless half covering his lost eye. Without his mask, Slade wears an eye-patch.

Powers-

Deathstroke possesses enhanced strength, speed, agility, and durability granted by an experimental serum. These include having the strength of ten men, and possessing heightened speed, stamina, endurance and reflexes.
Deathstroke’s enhancements made it possible for him to press a ton. He has the capacity to use up to 90 percent of his brain at any one time, making him a tactical genius, adept at turning his opponents’ own abilities against them.
Deathstroke possesses a healing factor in his blood that enables him to recover from physical injury much faster than a normal person; however, it does have limitations, as it could not heal his missing eye and cannot regenerate entire limbs. This healing factor enables him to recover from what would otherwise be fatal injuries, though recovering from such injuries renders him insane and animalistic for a short period.
Deathstroke is also a formidable martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant. He proved himself to be one of the best fighters in the United States Army and, through his martial arts training, he would later be a master of Boxing, Karate, Bōjutsu, Jojutsu, Jujitsu and Ninjutsu. In addition, he has demonstrated multilingualism, being able to speak various languages such as Russian, Japanese, and Korean.
Deathstroke is skilled in the use of various weapons, including swords and firearms, which are among his current weapons of choice. His signature weapon is a power staff that fires lethal and non-lethal energy blasts from both ends. His staff can fire bullets and miniature cannonball-like pellets and can bend and stretch to include both of his martial art forms. He also has a wide array of swords, including giant broadswords and katana swords.
Deathstrokes body armor is composed of a mesh-woven, kevlar, chainlink mail, capable of stopping small arms fire. The metal he wears and uses is Promethium, the volatile variety which he’s immune to thanks to his physical powers. He also wears a full suit composed of Nth metal. This armor allows him to absorb blows from some of the mightiest DC beings, as evidenced by it being able to absorb numerous blows from Lobo, although it could not withstand the power of Mazahs.

Biography-

Born in Queens, New York, to Sicilian immigrants, the young Francis Castiglione studied in the seminary for a time before he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, eventually rising to the rank of Captain. Prior to his enlistment, he married his wife, Maria, who was already pregnant with their first child. During his time in the USMC, Castiglione graduated from boot camp and then went on to United States Marine Corps School of Infantry. While still in training Castiglione met Phan Bighawk, an American Indian scout. He was assigned to be Castiglione’s guide, and through Phan, he learned how to survive in the wilderness. Following his training, Castiglione served in the Vietnam War in a Special Operations Unit as a point man.  Despite being one of, if not the best sniper in the corps it is generally implied that many of his superiors didn’t like him and put him in situations where they hoped he would be killed. He fought in numerous engagements and was the only survivor (from both sides) of a Viet Cong assault on Valley Forge Firebase in 1971. For heroism in the line of duty, he was decorated with the Medal of Honor, the Navy Cross, 3 times the Silver Star and Bronze Stars, 4 times the Purple Heart, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. After finishing his second tour of duty in Vietnam, he came back to the United States and had a second child with his wife. He then signed up for a third tour, for which he illegally re-entered the U.S. Marine Corps under the name of Frank Castle in order to return to battle. Castle served a total of four years in the Vietnam War (1968 to 1971). Six years later after the American involvement in Vietnam ended, Castle ran Special Black op training missions for Marine Recon Commandos in the upper New York State area. While on leave, he took his wife and two small children to Central Park in New York City. Coincidentally, the family happened upon the scene of a mob killing on the Sheep’s Meadow green in the park. Fearing witnesses, the mobsters murdered Castle’s family in cold blood and escaped. Castle managed to survive the attack but was deeply traumatized by the incident. He was going to testify in court to identify the shooters, but Castle was denied this since the New York police department were deeply connected with the Mafia. He decided not to return to Marine duty. When mobsters slayed his family, Frank Castle vowed to spend the rest of his life avenging them. Now equipped with state-of-the-art weapons, he now wages a one-man war against crime as the Punisher.

Powers-

The Punisher is the recipient of multi-disciplinary military training from the United States Marine Corps and the United States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance. While a Marine, he received training from the Airborne School and U.S. Navy SEALs as well as cross-training with the Australian Special Air Service Regiment during the Vietnam War.
The Punisher uses his military discipline and training techniques to update and expand his skills in areas that aid in his mission (disguise, acting, use of non-military weapons, etc.). From this training, Punisher is proficient in not only basic infantry skills, but in special operations, which includes the use and maintenance of specialized firearms and explosive ordnance.
The Punisher is highly trained in infiltration into heavily guarded enemy territories and structures for the purpose of assassination, capture, and military intelligence. He is also trained in various forms of camouflage and stealth.
The Punisher is highly adept at hand-to-hand combat, and has been trained in multiple forms of martial arts such as Nash Ryu Jujutsu, Ninjutsu, Shorin-ryu Karate, Hwa Rang Do, and Chin Na.
The Punisher maintains multiple safehouses and vehicles around the greater New York City area as well as multiple forged identities and bank accounts (most of the funds and equipment aiding him in his work are taken from the criminals he hunts).
The Punisher has a Kevlar uniform which protects him from most gunfire, though he can still suffer concussive injury or penetration from sufficient or repeated impacts. The bright white skull in his chest is used both to intimidate his enemies and to lure their fire to the more heavily protected area of his armor.
The Punisher has been using technology derived from super-villains and other costumed characters, such as the Green Goblin’s pumpkin bombs, a modified Goblin Glider and Doctor Octopus tentacle that he can shrink down for easy storage via Pym Particles.
The Punisher has complete control of his mind and consciousness, providing a strong resistance against psychic and telepathic powers that are used against him.

  1. Deathstroke wins without a doubt. Deathstroke can bench up to 2,000 pounds and easily benches 800. That is super-human. Deathstroke has healing abilities and so does his own suit. Nth Metal is also one of the most mystical suits in DC making is able to absorb physical impact and ignore magic. Deathstroke also has massive feats, defeating Flash, Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman, Green Lantern, Bane, Raj Al Gul, Hawkman, Lobo, Hawkgirl, Supergirl, etc. Punisher has defeated Spider-man and even fought against Captain America and defeated the Avengers and X-men (but it had to be in an alternate Universe), but Deathstroke clearly has better tactical skills in order to defeath Flash, Superman, and Batman, arguably the best Justice League members and alternate universe-wise has defeated the Justice League and the enitre League of Assassins (now known as League of Shadows) and has been able to defeat the Suicide Squad one-by-one. Plus that healing factor is hard to pass by.
