Superman Vs Hyperion

Biography –

When Kal-El was just a baby on his home planet Krypton, his father, a scientist named Jor-El, learned the planet’s core was unstable and ultimately doomed. He attempted to warn his people and prompt them to evacuate, but the dogmatic Kryptonian government dismissed Jor-El’s warnings completely, forcing him and his family to confront the inevitability of Krypton’s destruction. Mere moments before the planet was destroyed, Jor-El and his wife Lara managed to load their infant son into an escape pod and launch him into space, hoping that their final act would save him from the fate of their people. Baby Kal-El’s pod traveled through the universe until it crash-landed on Earth. Or, more specifically, in a quiet field outside the tiny town of Smallville, Kansas, where he was discovered by Jonathan and Martha Kent. As they examined the wreckage, they found the infant and, as they were without child, decided to take him in as their own. The Kents hid the wreckage of the escape pod and raised Kal-El as their own, giving him the human name Clark Kent, and doing their best to ensure that he would have a normal upbringing, and remain indistinguishable from any other child in Smallville. For most of his early life, Clark believed he was human. It wasn’t until his Kryptonian abilities began manifesting in his teens that his adoptive family decided to tell him the truth. Clark then viewed a holographic message from his parents that had been stored within his escape pod. It explained everything about Clark’s lost homeworld and the people he’d never known. After Martha Kent crafted a costume for him, Clark began fighting crime and injustice in all its forms. Lois Lane, a reporter for the Metropolis newspaper, the Daily Planet, and eventually Clark’s coworker, coined the name Superman in her exposé revealing his existence to the world. Since then, Superman has become one of the most trusted and well-recognized figures in the DC universe, the guardian of not just his city, but the planet at large.

Powers –

Superman is capable of creating a so-called solar flare that allows him to emit a massive, omnidirectional burst of energy from his body. When used, the solar flare would sap the majority of his energy, causing him to become as vulnerable and powerless as a human until he was able to recharge.

Superman has limited access to Kryptonian technology through his Fortress of Solitude. A sanctuary located, for most of its history, at the North Pole, it houses a database of Kryptonian history and weapons, and even a portal to the Phantom Zone, an extra-dimensional Kryptonian prison.

Superman has a power that directs all the kinetic energy of his physical movement into his fists.

Superman has super-hearing that lets him hear things in other cities and even other planets, and hear frequencies beyond the human range.

Superman has x-ray vision which means he can scan everything around him for criminals, people to rescue, and anything else, with just a turn of his head.

Superman has super-vision that lets him see far away objects, zoom in to see microscopic creatures and even see through objects.

Superman’s “super-breath.” allows him to suck in or blow huge amounts of air. He basically can become a human vacuum or create hurricane-force winds at will. Superman can hold enough air that he can travel underwater or even outer space for hours.

Superman has the power to shoot extremely hot beams of energy from his eyes by channeling the solar energy in his body out of his eyeballs. He can control the width and intensity of the beams, so they can be wide enough to incinerate a whole group of super-villains standing close together or narrow enough to perform microscopic surgery. Superman can also fire the beams across hundreds of feet. The beams can be hot enough to melt metal and even rock.

Superman has superhuman speed, which lets him run, move, and even fly at hundreds of miles an hour. He can fly at incredible speeds, even capable of exceeding the speed of light. He can also pick up and move enormous objects while flying.

Superman is able to move at the speed of light and beyond. Along with his speed comes accelerated reflexes and thought, so he can perceive the world in slow-motion and out-think his opponents. His speed has been compared to the Flash, and the times the two have raced have ended in ties.

Superman has the ability to absorb the power of the yellow sun and turn it into energy. Superman has almost no limit to his strength. He could pick up cars, rip steel, and escalated to lifting mountains and even moving whole planets.

Superman’s body can take on extreme impacts, high temperatures, and even explosions without even a scratch.

Biography –

Hyperion was sent to Earth as a baby and raised by agents of the United States government in a secret government compound by a pseudo-family, under the auspices of a normal childhood, with the name Mark Milton. His powers began to develope early. Government agents begin to manipulate him into becoming a weapon for the U.S. government, regardless of his own desires. As a young man, in lieu of Washington Herald reporter Jason Scott’s investigation into strange stories involving military operations, he is revealed to humanity by the government as a hero and government operative, dubbed Hyperion.

Powers –

Hyperions body collects cosmic radiation and operates in a process similar to nuclear fusion.

Hyperion possesses great physical strength. At his peak, he possesses superhuman strength listed at class 100 (the scale is not to be taken literally, but just comparatively). Hyperion has been shown to almost match the strength of beings such as Gladiator (whose strength is classified at class 100+).

Hyperion can run, move and react at supersonic speeds. The exact limit of his speed is Mach 4 (3000 miles per hour).

Hyperion has the ability to levitate himself and fly through the air at tremendous speeds by harnessing and manipulating anti-gravitons. At his peak, he is capable of achieving escape velocity speed (25,100 miles per hour). Once in space, he is capable of reaching light-speed.

Hyperion’s highly advanced musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a human being. He can exert himself physically at peak capacity for several days before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. Hyperion is also able to physically withstand the rigors of space without any special clothing.

Hyperion’s entire body is far more durable than a normal human’s and is virtually impervious to all physical damage. Hyperion can withstand high caliber naval gun fire, falls from tremendous heights, exposure to absolute temperatures, extreme pressures, powerful energy beams, and even great impact forces

Hyperion’s agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Hyperion’s reflexes are similarly enhanced and are far superior to those of the finest human athlete and are roughly 100 times greater.

Hyperion is capable of willfully manipulating great amounts of cosmic energy for a few physical purposes.

Hyperion is capable of firing beams of highly intense heat from his eyes that’s often referred to as Atomic Vision. The full limit of his Atomic Vision isn’t known, but it is known that Hyperion can generate temperatures far above 12,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hyperion can purposely channel cosmic energy to repair cells, tissues, organs and even bones that have been damaged or regrow them if they have been destroyed. Hyperion’s healing factor also decreases the rate of his aging by a very high degree. However it isn’t known if he ages at an exceptionally slow pace or if his healing factor has stopped him from aging altogether. His healing factor also keeps him in optimal health and makes him Immune to all diseases, infections, contamination, corrosives, and radiation (with the exception of Argonite radiation which drains his powers and vitality).

  1. Superman would probably win this fight if it was on Earth, but it sounds like in space Hyperion’s power would be greater. This is a good example of a close battle
